I am Iran

I really don’t know how to begin this particular post; things have happened so fast recently that my limited mind has problem adjusting with it. I start a sentence and before I finish, I start deleting: letter-by-letter, word-by-word I erase. The main problem perhaps is my unsettled mind or maybe I have many things to say and I hardly know where to start. It is not a story. It is neither fiction nor nonfiction. It is only an attempt.

For me it started with Nazy’s creative ideas and her careful collection of images. It is Vaaleh’s music that covers the slideshow. As I said it is an attempt and we can make it worthwhile only if you share your thoughts about it with us. It is an open project and I am happy to welcome you to participate in "I am Iran". If you have difficulty watching the link on YouTube please check it here.

Dear Beautiful Roja:

I thank the sun, the moon, and the stars for the day I came to know you. You are simply one of the sweetest, kindest, and most brilliant individuals I have known in my life, making me proud because you are also an Iranian. You did all the work for this and I am grateful for your support when I called you in a state of panic.

It is my sincere hope that we will be able to reach and touch people through this effort. People of the world must insist on peace and demand it from their governments. Americans and Iranians must demand peace, thus raising awareness becomes an important pre-requisite of peace.

I think working on this project together made me really get to know you better and to love you even more, Roja Jan. Peace on Earth.

Roja joonam,

How difficult a job it is to put captions for the photos? I mean the ones that show celebrities for example, or the places.

If it is not that hard, i think it would be a good idea.

nice job to all involved. beautifully and artistically put together. i think it stands strong without name captions.

Thanks for your evermore encouraging comment. The idea was all yours, I am looking forward to the new changes based on the feedbacks we are getting.

Many kisses

It is a very good idea; Not only for celebrities or places but also to give credit to the photographers. The only obstacle here is it is not readable since the pics changes rapidly and also due to the reduced size of the slide-show when we put it online. So what we want to do is to give all these info at the end or maybe the beginning of the slide-show.

Dear Nadaram

Many thanks for your comment. The main reason for the main caption "I am Iran Do Not Bomb Me!" is that if it was not there the message we want to spread won't get transfered in the duration of the slide show. Another factor that played a role is that it give a unity to these rather scattered and wide-ranged photos. Please let me know what you think of it now.
