Back In Business

I am out of my sleeping-mind period and I feel sheepish; it was all due to Nourooz, spring and me once more feeling 15.

Let's start the business. In the last week apart from me being in love, I tried to put together a Film List for the Silk Road: a very interesting project for my lecture on Cinema and the Modern Silk Road. I was thinking that it can be a list of A and B movies (Documentary, Fiction or Animation) made in or about the regions, countries, areas or nations along the Silk Road from far East to far West. So far I have this. I am sure there are a lot that I didn’t mention due to my sleepiness. So I appreciate if you remind me of things (movie/region) that have been left out from this list.

And lastly I got this Mona Lisa with Heejab which I thing is funny: I don’t know who the artist is, but she/he is surely familiar with Duchamp's ideas. So take a look at LHOOQ Mona Lisa (1919).

The movie information follows this order:

Hi Tameshk Jan! 1. I'm afraid I'm not qualified to help you with your interesting project, as you are a lot more knowledgeable about these things than I am. The only thing that occurs to me is that what is now Pakistan also used to be on the Silk Road. I don't know what kind of cinema the Pakistanis ("Islamic Indians") have (lots of singing behind the pillars and never leaving the pillars? Lots of dancing fully-clothed, in separate men's/women's rooms? I'm sorry to sound sarcastic, but today I'm really cross with all notions of Islamic anything!

2. Thanks for visiting and thanks for your good wishes! This is just five of fiteen boxes of books I have packed so far! You are right. I did bring my books and CD's from Tehran this time. They stay with me now, wherever I go, because a house is not a home until it holds all that is dear to you, and all that is dear to me is neither the house itself nor its furnishings, but my books, films, music, pictures, and my two sons, and that's all! I just hope the move is over soon, so I can rest, as I am totally exhausted! Be good Rojan Jan. I'm glad you got some zzzz's this weekend. I hope to get mine on the weekend of April 14th!

Hey!

You must add something from Tajikestan, Kazakhstan and Kyrkyzstan as well, I am not sure about the quality of the cinema in those countries, but they fit well into your project.
